Attention To Detail...

Ok, so it's no secret that if you are into beading or jewelry making of sorts...
You've probably got a detail oriented or slightly obsessive type personality right?

Not saying it has to be in a way of being neat and organized...
Who has time for that really...
Although being a bit more neat and organized means we would be able to find our stuff when we are struck with inspiration...

I don't know any beader or jewelry designer that would ever admit to having too many things in their supply boxes (hordes of beads, tools, stringing materials, raw materials, inspirational imagery, informational books, anything really...)

Well...
The other day I was talking to one of Chloe's teachers at school...
I always think that I border on the "I've lingered here to talk way too long, but I can't help it because I am home alone all day and need adult conversation".
(Sorry, my cats don't count - they are too into their own thing)
And we were gabbing and laughing, and she asked me to look at a group of the students work and see if I could pick out Chloe's. Well, up until now, her artwork has looked - well, like most 2 year olds. But take a look at this picture of the grouping of projects:

The bottom center project is Chloe's...
What do you notice about it?

Yup - all the fish are glued so they are swimming in the same direction...

I'm sure there is some psychological thing to it...
Some insight into how she is going to deal with things in life...
I do like order, and things to be symmetrical in ways that are pleasing to the eye - in an interesting way...
But I giggled at it all after picking my mouth up off the floor, and just thought - well, she will definitely be into my bead stash before I know it...

It's going to be interesting to see what she gets into.
So far she is pretty determined too to do things herself.
Strong, smart, independent woman hopefully...

Team In Training Fundraising for Leukemia

My friend Jayne is once again a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's programs to fight blood cancers such as Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma.

It would be great to have you consider donating to the Society in support of her Team in Training commitment for 2010. She will run the 13.1 mile Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon specifically to benefit Team in Training on June 6, 2010.

Here is a link to her fundraising page where you can find out more information and to be able to donate (100% tax deductible):

2010 Bead Shows Starting Up

I've just found a moment to update the side column of my blog with some of the show dates for 2010 for D7Studio (my friend Darlene's bead business - she sells my beads as well as a number of other artist beads and cool products for making finished jewelry).

This weekend, Jan 15 - 17 is the Innovative Beads Expo show in Marlborough, MA.

Shows through April are listed to the right as well...

And just in case you are wondering, the Marsha Neal Studio booth at the Best Bead Show in Tucson, AZ was cancelled. Sorry if this causes anyone any inconvenience.

Please email me if you were hoping to pick up some pieces, and we can work on a trunk show or small order for you...

Hope all is well!

Shard Class at Artful Bead Studio in Pennington, NJ

Hello Everyone!
As I'm trying to keep up with a little bit of sanity in this new world of mine with a 2 year old and 2 week old... Things keep randomly popping into my head.

My friends at Artful Bead Studio in Pennington, NJ came up with an earring class based around my shard pieces called "Shard Lily Earrings" which is being offered on Thursday, January 14th from 5:30 - 8pm and on Saturday, February 6th from 1:30 - 4:30pm. The cost is $45 plus materials.

Here is a picture from their website with a sample of a pair of the earrings. They do have various color palettes of shards available too...

See more info about this class and many other cool classes they offer on their website by clicking HERE!

Happy creating everyone!!!
