I Heart Macro...

It's been a while since I've been in the groove of my regular blogging.
One thing I'd really like to get back into is I Heart Macro Sundays via Studio Waterstone.
This is a quick shot from today as I was working in my studio and had my little 2 year old down there painting on the new painting easel that he and his sister got for a Christmas present from me.
I wanted them to be able to come down with me and spend some time creating and not worrying so much about keeping things ultra clean (my way of not having to clean up the house after them - studio is fine - house - not so much... I don't like to clean the house - I like it clean, but would rather be spending my time in the studio or in the garden hanging out with these guys).
I love to just watch how they figure things out.
What goes through their head...
Oh, Wait...
I know exactly what is about to happen...
Riley is such a boy!
He got a huge kick out of chasing me around with this water bottle (even played along when I grabbed it and sprayed him - oh the squealy screams and laughter that came out of that kid!).
I can't wait until it is not the middle of winter and we can run outside a lot more.

I Heart Macro Fall Harvest & Critters

Here is my entry for this week's I Heart Macro.
Fall Harvest is upon us...
And lots of critters making their last show in the garden for this season...
Hope most overwinter outside and stop trying to make homes in our house.
I love insects and spiders & the like - but not inside…

I Heart Macro… Grasshopper

This week for Lori's I Heart Macro event,
I give you a picture of a grasshopper that I snapped with my iPhone & hand lens…
If I had the time I would spend hours peering into my garden and capturing these fleeting moments on digital media.

Stop on by and see what everyone else is posting on the Studio Waterstone Blog.

I Heart Macro...

Welcome to my weekly post to contribute to this weeks
Hosted by Studio Waterstone every Sunday.

I've been working a lot on updates for my Etsy shop
(not just the relevancy tags… ugh!)

I love taking macro photos of these pieces…
The way the glazes react over the clay is just yummy!

I'm still working on getting this series of photos into a listing.

I'm such a color and texture freak…
I think I need to print some of these photos and collage with them for color inspirations - what do you think?

Here is another quick link to my in-between I Heart Marcro Sunday posts that had some beautiful colored macro shots that inspired some of my new silk bundle color palettes…

Swing over to Studio Waterstone and check out the other posts for I Heart Macro!

See you next week!

I Heart Macro - Glazes!

Welcome to my weekly post to contribute to this weeks
Hosted by Studio Waterstone every Sunday.

This week I am giving you some close up views of some of my porcelain shard pieces...
Marsha Neal Studio Porcelain Shard Beads/Pendants.
And an up close of one of the glazes also pictured above:
Peacock...
Peacock Blue Glaze.
This new Peacock glaze is quite a bit of an obsession of mine…
I love rich muted colors.
I love glazes that are translucent.
I love the way you can see the texture in every detail of my carving.

I hope to have some of these pieces up in my Etsy shop soon.

And real quick - I have a plethora of garden photos to add to my garden blog, and even though blurry, I though this little guy was quite funny with his HUGE goggle-looking eyes!

Check out my garden blog if you want to see more nature related pictures.

Make sure to jump over to Studio Waterstone for this week's:
