As some of you may know, 2011 is my year to "Enhance".
One thing I am doing, is taking an online drawing class called
And this post is dedicated to the first quarter of assignments we have had and to pick our favorites…
Drawing with Geometric Shapes. My favorite so far! |
This old player piano belonged to my Grandma Neal. I used to play like this on it too! |
A play on Zentangle and my name... |
First Assignment - one drawing from a page full of cats... |
Drawing with your non-dominant hand. Still makes me giggle at it... |
Drawing Negative space. I really like this exercise! |
Drawing shadows... |
From my night stand table (the night before it was due of course!) |
I have not been able to keep up with every weekly assignment, but I don't let it get me down.
I am taking every day as I can and pulling the most from these that time allows me.
I believe you can sign up too if you want to give drawing a go…

Thanks for stopping by!
This is great! Good way to get out of "the box". I like the zentangle drawing. I have a Drawing Lab book but haven't kept up with it... maybe online would be more inspirational. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDon't sweat the missed assignments - you are clearly deriving a great deal of joy and personal growth from the ones you are able to take on - you go, girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marsha for sharing your sketches and participating. Don't sweat the small stuff!
ReplyDeleteHi Marsha. It looks like most of your favorite assignments were the ones I liked the least, which is perfect, since you need a good mix of exercises and students to keep it interesting. The picture of your son playing the piano is great. He's going to grow up and ask why you drew him as a robot though.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you are still following this course, Marsha. I love your zentangle drawings and the one with the piano is awesome! I have missed participating but after I got so sick I am still recovering and life is moving very swiftly. I am keeping all the assignments because I really want to come back to it. You have a broad range of skills with the drawing and I love seeing your progrssion (that key is my very favorite thing!). Enjoy the day!

Hi Marsha,
ReplyDeleteI love your cat drawing, and your word art zentangle is amazing! I think I will look into zentangle. The drawing you did of your son playing the piano is precious. If you haven't already, you should frame it, and hang it somewhere you can enjoy it every day.
